Honda CR V Look
Agree with this or not but Honda has earned some brownie points in terms of looks of the new CR-V. You would like to give compliment to the vehicle as it’s now bigger (by 47mm), wider (by 35mm) and the wheelbase has also been extended (by 40mm) to accommodate the third row. But if we exclude the derriere, the new CR-V is quite reminiscent to the older version. However, in flesh the vehicle is more emphatic and confident. At the front, the all-LED headlight setup lends it a more technical look. The edges on the hood appear to be more pronounced, adding to the muscular looks. The signature grille gets a thick treatment of chrome while the slim LED daytime running lights add to the dazzle.
Looking at the side profile, you can surely point out that the vehicle is visibly longer than the predecessor. The squared-off wheel arches add to the muscular looks and the 18-inch dual-toned alloy wheels are larger wearing a wider rubber than the outgoing car. The chrome highlights on the black cladding is fresh and lends a rugged appeal to the vehicle. It’s the rear where you can clearly differentiate the new CR-V from the earlier one. The sleek L-shaped tail lamps seems to be nicely flowing down from the spoiler, twirls at the waist line before slotting beneath the chrome bar on the tailgate.
Overall, the new CR-V is quite toned and strikes a fine balance between sophistication and delicacy. It will surely attract eyeballs on the road.
Honda CR V Comfort
For the beginners, the new Honda CR-V can cast a spell on. The understated design shows the sense of premiumness of a European car. Quality is no doubt topnotch with the grain of the leather, faux wood trim and modest piano black strip streaking across the dashboard, are some of the elegant touches. Moreover, the seats and the door pads featuring ivory leather are changes made specifically for the Indian carbuyers.
The carmaker has added a sci-fi experience by including a 7-inch digital display which in every sense looks futuristic. The panel offers easy-to-read information including trip details, AWD torque indicator and various alerts related to driver attention. Further, the futuristic feel can be seen in the form of buttons which replaces the conventional gear stick, really cool.
The highlight on the center console is the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment which has right to some extent make the dashboard uncluttered as it also incorporates controls for the air vents. It is also compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and it’s quite snappy. The system also supports voice control and can be connected to Bluetooth as well. The decibels are provided by 4-speakers and 2 tweeters which does the job quite well. There is also a front HDMI port for connecting your compatible gadgets.
Coming from the stable of Japanese automaker, the SUV has to be practical, durable and a benchmark for quality. There is a storage bin in the midst of the front seats that loudly speaks of the level of introspection given to the car. The sliding storage can be used to dump the smartphones and can be played around with to create three different configurations. Besides two USB ports at the front console, the second row also gets two 2.5 Amp USB ports. The last row misses on the charging point altogether but it does offer cup holders and stowage boxes. For more info on Honda CR V visit Icassp2003
Moving to the space and comfort, the front seats are really cozy while the second row is best for average sized adults as they will find it cushioned and the ambience around as airy. There is single-pull handles provided in the boot for flipping the second row forward which is a nice feature. Coming to the third row, it is best for children and the average sized adults will find the seating position uncomfortable as there is lack of under thigh support and headroom. Surprisingly, there is no power tailgate opening in the Indian CR-V.
There is lack of boot space in the diesel variant as the seats do not folds flat on to the floor. However, there is height adjustable function that helps in getting things right while stowing luggage. The car does not lack in feel good aspects as the driver’s seat is 8-way electrically adjustable. Then there is 2-zone climate control which works brilliantly and a panoramic sunroof that extends all the way to the second row giving a clear view of what’s going up there. The new Honda CR-V features 3-spoke leather steering wheel which also gets updated mounted controls for audio, telephony and cruise. Other premium features in the car include push engine start/stop button, auto-dimming rear view mirror, remote engine start, rear ac vents and auto rain sensing wipers among others.
Overall, Honda has added many things to the kitty this time around which has certainly ramped up its interior appeal.
